Vitafoods Europe, which had been rescheduled for the 1-3 September (from its traditional May dates) due to the Covid-19 crisis has has cancelled its 2020 edition. It will be replaced this year with a “large scale virtual event” at the start of September.
Organiser Informa Markets says with the health and safety of its community in mind, as well as continuing government and businesses restrictions on travel and gatherings, “we made the proactive decision to act now, allowing our industry partners enough time to adjust their plans”.
Vitafoods Virtual Expo, a large-scale digital event with enhanced matchmaking opportunities, video networking and high-quality educational content, will take place from 7-11 September 2020.
Chris Lee, managing director, health and nutrition network at Informa Markets said: “Innovation and connection are critical to the Vitafoods community; the engagement in last month’s Vitafoods Digital Week demonstrated how the health and nutrition industry are seeking new ways to discover new products, foster connections and support their business.
“The Vitafoods Virtual Expo will offer a new way to connect industry experts and support businesses overcome challenges in this new environment today and building a footprint for everyone’s digital evolution in the future.”
The organiser says it is “working through details that will support this transition” and will provide updates via our website and social media platforms in the coming weeks.
