We know that our diet is responsible for about a third of the greenhouse gases emitted globally. But what about our cosmetics?
Carbon footprint of cosmetics
The carbon footprint is the amount of greenhouse gases (GHGs) emitted by a given process throughout its cycle. Although not all gases are CO2, it is translated to the so-called CO2 equivalent for comparison. There are no public figures on it. Surely it is not easy to calculate it since the world of cosmetics is complex and encompasses many types of products and different industrial processes to obtain them.
