UK-based retailer and brand owner Planet Organic hopes to break new ground with the launch of its probiotic infused Biolive Crunch Bars.
The new bars each contain an impressive 1 billion colony forming units (CFU) of the spore-forming probiotic bacteria strain, Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086. The patented strain has undergone extensive R&D and has been shown to withstand heat, manufacturing, shelf life and even stomach acid so that it can be effective in the gut.
The launch comes as consumer awareness of gut health self-care is growing, enabled by a widening array of probiotic gut-friendly foods – like sauerkraut, kefir and kombucha – that have been shown to improve digestion, immune support and mood.
Planet Organic says that its Biolive Crunch Bars “deliver a functional dose of gut-friendly probiotics in each bar, making them so much more than a delicious snack bar”.
Vegan and gluten-free, the bars are also free from refined sugar and have a crunchy centre with a smooth, raw chocolate coating.
The crunch comes from omega-rich seeds and buckwheat, a gluten-free seed which is high in plant-protein and fibre, meaning that these bars really rack up the healthy credentials.
