Formula Botanica has been announced as the official Indie Beauty Partner of in-cosmetics Global 2020 (Barcelona, 31 March-2 April).

The partnership sees in-cosmetics Global, the world’s leading trade show for personal care ingredients and Formula Botanica, the award-winning and largest online trainer in organic cosmetic formulation, join forces in highlighting the fast-growing indie and natural cosmetics’ sector.

In-cosmetics Global brings together over 800 exhibitors of ingredients, fragrances, lab equipment, testing and regulatory solutions, as well as over 12,000 cosmetic manufacturers from over 115 countries.  As part of the overall sector, the global natural cosmetics market is predicted to grow at an annual rate of 5.2% with the boom driven by shifting consumer perceptions around natural ingredients in cosmetics.

Dramatic shift
Shona Thomson, marketing manager for in-cosmetics Global, said that for several years, the event had recognised the unprecedented increase in the presence of indie brands. “By officially partnering Formula Botanica in 2020, our 30th birthday year, we not only acknowledge this dramatic shift in the market but also further our support of indie brands.”

As sponsors of the show’s Indie Trail, Formula Botanica is inviting both trade visitors and the public to actively explore this exciting, fast-growing world of natural cosmetics. Based at its Indie Beauty Hub, a focal point for natural cosmetics’ suppliers, formulators, students and the indie beauty community, Formula Botanica is taking a pro-active role throughout the show with talks and practical workshops.

As part of in-cosmetics’ education programme, the school is holding three Formulation Lab training sessions which are programme highlights for indie brands looking to widen their understanding of innovative, natural ingredients.  Usually available only to R&D professionals, the Formula Botanica workshops are open to all, and aimed at giving everyone the chance to experience formulating in a professional lab setting.

Indie beauty entrepreneurs
Formula Botanica CEO Lorraine Dallmeier, who gave a keynote talk at the 2019 edition of the show in Paris and who will be on stage this year in the indie beauty panel discussions, said that partnering in-cosmetics Global was a huge honour for the school: “We know the immense value the show brings our community of indie beauty entrepreneurs and are thrilled to see in-cosmetics reach out to small brand owners through this 2020 partnership with Formula Botanica. This edition of in-cosmetics Global is putting indie and natural beauty firmly on the map as a strong, economic force in the cosmetics’ sector.”

Formula Botanica is reporting live from the show throughout the three days on  Facebook and Instagram, highlighting trends, interviewing indie trail ingredient suppliers and key influencers in the sector, as well as showcasing the latest in indie beauty from the world’s leading cosmetic ingredients show.
