A giant ice sculpture of David Attenborough has been unveiled on London’s Southbank.

Clean energy drink brand TENZING created the two-meter sculpture as part of its Take Action campaign.

‘Impending environmental disaster’

It aims to demonstrate the rate of the Arctic sea ice melt, caused by one person’s carbon emissions in the UK every fortnight.

The temporary installation also symbolizes ‘that if we don’t all take immediate action to tackle the climate crisis, our opportunity to halt the impending environmental disaster will evaporate’.

‘If we don’t all take immediate action, our opportunity to halt the impending environmental disaster will evaporate’.

Huib van Bockel is the Founder of TENZING. In a statement sent to PBN, he said: “Every individual has the ability to make a difference… The cool thing is, if we all take responsibility, the impact will be huge.

“In our case, this means offsetting more carbon than we emit whilst making our community carbon-neutral too.”

The David Attenborough effect

More than a third of Brits have started ‘avoiding’ animal products due to David Attenborough’s A Life On Our Planet.

The data comes from a 2,000-person survey conducted by ‘tech for good’ brand 3 SIDED CUBE.

The findings show that Attenborough is top of the list (59 percent) when it comes to putting influential pressure on consumers to make more sustainable choices. Half of Brits also feel pressure from wider society and four in 10 credit Greta Thunberg.

Moreover, 73 percent of consumers acknowledge businesses have a moral responsibility to minimize their environmental impact. And, a further 64 percent are calling on the government to introduce new legislation to make sure businesses make their environmental footprint visible on their products.
