Interview with Monika Fidos, Silcare
Tell us a bit about your company
Silcare is a Polish company specializing in UV- and LED-curable products, as well as, body, hand, foot and hair care cosmetics. Our brand has been on the market for 17 years and it offers more than 1200 products (and we do not intend on stopping any time soon) available in over 40 countries. All our cosmetics are created from the idea to the finished product in our company’s headquarters, which has an area of over 35 000 sq. m. We are valued by both professionals and individual buyers. We surprise with European quality, we respond to customer needs, and we do it more efficiently thanks to our very own manufacturing facility.
We aim to be more expressive and focused on values that are important for consumers; for instance, more natural cosmetics. We follow trends, listen to feedbacks and we encourage positive changes. We want to give end users a choice, and we bravely take on challenges that conscious consumers give us – we want to change and we try to inspire others to do the same.
Tell us about your latest product(s), promotions or launches visitors can hope to see on your stand.
Our new HEMA-free line of manicure products called SoPRO had its premiere this August. The line consists of top-coat, base-coat and color gel polishes without HEMA, as well as, manicure oil and nail cleaner. Our company always tries to be up to date with what the consumers need. So, when we received information about manicure fans who dreamed of gel polish nails, but could not get them done, because of their sensitive nail plate it got us thinking: This has to change.
We started work on HEMA-free gel polish formula in our research center, trying out new technologies and methods in order to replace hydroxyethylmethacrylate (an acrylate monomer that causes allergic contact dermatitis in people, e.g., manicurists, with a sensitive nail plate). And finally, as the first company in Poland, we found a solution – we replaced HEMA with monomers of higher molecular weight that prevented their penetration deep into the skin, lowering the risk of sensitization.
Furthermore, in order to improve the strength and reduce nail breakage, we also added an encapsulated nail care complex called NailHeroTM to our SoPRO UV/LED Hybrid Base base-coat gel polish. The complex contains active ingredients, such as hydrolyzed wheat and soybean protein, amino acids (arginine, threonine and serine), tea tree oil, and vitamin E, which, for example, exhibit moisturizing, soothing, protective and antioxidative properties, plus they accelerate growth of the nail plate and improve blood circulation in the nail matrix.
What is your current bestseller?
Our current bestsellers are oils from Vitality Oil line and QUIN So Sweet & Natural Lip Scrub Orange. Vitality Oil consists of three cosmetics (Macadamia, Avocado, Olive) based 100% on pure plant oils. They are intended for body, face and hair care. When it comes to natural cosmetics, they are the hit among our customers. No wonder, they are filled with numerous beneficial properties – e.g., they moisturize, regenerate, soften and soothe, as well as, reduce skin irritation, support reduction of wrinkles and improve hair root structure – all this thanks to nature itself. And there is also our winner of Hi Best Beauty Buys Awards 2021 in Best Beauty Buy Lip Scrub Category – QUIN So Sweet & Natural Lip Scrub Orange – made from nearly 100% natural ingredients. The contained in the scrub Shea and coconut butter, grape seed oil, peach kernel oil, glycerin and vitamin E, along with a natural exfoliant (sugar crystals), not only removes dead skin cells but also smooths, nourishes, improves appearance, flexibility and moisturization level of the lips.
Why was Eco Life Scandinavia 2021 an unmissable opportunity for you?
As an European brand, we want to strengthen and increase our influence and share our vision by participating in far-reaching and meaningful events. The Scandinavian and Nordic region countries have a major strategic significance to us. Natural products are a hit trend that is spreading very rapidly across the globe. Therefore, we want to meet other manufacturers (big and small) and learn more about organic and ecological products in order to expand our offer to meet the needs of conscious consumers worldwide. Of course, we also want to meet suppliers, resellers, and distributors. And this trade event is an unmissable opportunity for us to achieve all the above mentioned goals.
What kind of visitors are you looking forward to meeting at Eco Life Scandinavia?
We can hardly wait to meet other participants and their innovative goods, suppliers who offer high-quality products, and visitors amazed by the trade event’s atmosphere. And obviously, we are very excited at the thought of presenting our new line of products.
