The Advisory Panel for Organic Food Iberia and ECO Living Iberia, met at Ifema-Feria de Madrid on 12 September to review this year’s launch edition and discuss developments for the second edition, taking place on the 3-4 June 2020.
The meeting, which included major supporters, associations and regions involved in organic in Spain and Portugal, concluded that the first edition had exceeded expectations, and had laid strong foundations for the future growth of the show.
The event, organised by Diversified and IFEMA, attracted over 5,000 professional trade buyers and nearly 500 exhibitors to the first event, taking up all of the 14,000 m2 of space in Pavilion 14. The meeting was told that the feedback from both exhibitor and visitors had been very strong, with visitors providing an exceptionally high satisfaction score, particularly considering that this was the first edition of he event.
The meeting agreed to change the open days next year to Wednesday and Thursday – considered to be the best days for most trade visitors. There was also agreement to extend the hosted buyer programme through a series of initiatives, and increase the functionality of the show website, including providing the option for visitors and exhibitors to pre-arrange meetings at the event.
The organisers described how the second edition had got off to the best possible start, with most regions asking for significantly more space than in the launch year, and a high level of interest from Spain and Portugal, as well as significantly increased international interest. As a result, the second Organic Food Iberia will be moved to Hall 7, the largest exhibition hall at IFEMA, providing 30% more space for exhibitors.
Organic Food Iberia and ECO Living Iberia take place on 3-4 June 2020 at IFEMA, Madrid.
