For several years, the specialist organic channel has been experiencing a process of losing market share to the benefit of the conventional channel, which has definitively opted for organic assortments to adapt to a consumer who is increasingly concerned about the impact of food on their health and that of the environment. In 2018, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), a shift began in the distribution of organic food sales in favor of the conventional channel, which in 2020, according to the latest available data, reached 53% of the Total organic product marketed in Spain.
