The IFEMA MADRID Fairgrounds will host the next edition of Organic Food & Eco Living Iberia on June 7 and 8 . The international ecological fair of reference in the Iberian Peninsula has the objective of strengthening the fabric of the organic sector, connecting professionals from all over the world and building bridges between Spanish organic products and international markets, with the transversal support of the organic sector .
“It is vitally important to have a fair of these characteristics that is a benchmark. The promotion and enhancement of organic production is one of our objectives and this fair is a perfect showcase for it”, they affirm from the Ecovalia association , main sponsor of the event. And they add: “It is a meeting point with all the agents of the sector and we will take advantage of it to carry out activities of a professional nature and actions that contribute to value the sector.”
During the two days of the fair, Ecovalia will carry out intense activity, presence and promotion both at the stand and within the official programme, presenting the European projects in which it participates. In this sense, the Secretary General of Ecovalia, Diego Granado Cumbres , will present the European promotional campaign “The future is at your table with the green leaf, choose organic food” , launched together with the counterpart association in Portugal, Agrobio, with the aim of valuing the key role of consumption and promotion in the development of the organic sector in Spain.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food will participate as one of the official sponsors of the 2023 edition. “With this initiative, the Government of Spain wants to give its support to such an important sector as organic production. The logo of the ministry and that of the Alimentos de España promotion strategy will be linked to the celebration of the event”, they affirm from the department.
Minister Luis Planas has received the invitation to inaugurate the Organic Food Iberia & Eco Living Iberia fair this year. In addition to his support through his Alimentos de España brand , the ministry will closely monitor several of the participation of experts in the scheduled activities, as well as in the delivery of a presentation on the ecological sector in Spain.
Reinforcing its category as an international fair, Organic Food & Eco Living Iberia 2023 will apply IFEMA MADRID’s ‘Live Connect’ success model for generating business contacts to the organic sector, through an ambitious plan promoted by ICEX to attract high- level international buyers . In the fourth edition of the event, the entity has tripled its support, being key in generating business and commercial contacts.
Its main line of action is focused on “attracting importers and sellers of organic products in strategic international markets, such as China, Japan, the UAE, Qatar, Switzerland, Singapore, Japan, Germany, the US or Canada. All of these will participate in the Hosted Buyers program organized by the fair and will have job interviews with the exhibiting companies”, explains María Naranjo , Director of the Food Industry at ICEX .
In the context of the fair, ICEX will organize, in collaboration with IFEMA, three webinars on China, the US and the United Kingdom between May 16 and 23, focused on resolving doubts about regulation and opportunity markets for organic products.
VIP guests and buyer program participants will have access to the exclusive VIP Lounge , sponsored by Biocop . “We have always believed in Organic Food Iberia, since its first edition. We bet on the event as the bio professional fair of reference in the Iberian Peninsula”, says its General Director, Pol Picazos . On this occasion, Biocop will be present with two stands, one located in the Organic Food Iberia food area and the other in Eco Living Iberia, presenting its brands and product innovations. Likewise, it will participate in a round table on the situation of the organic food market.
For its part, Grupo Editorial Mercacei will coordinate the Olive Oil Tasting Gallery , the space dedicated to extra virgin olive oil. “Extra virgin olive oil will gain prominence at Organic Food Iberia through this self-guided tasting area where the best organic EVOOs can be tasted with the help of descriptive sheets”, details Juan A. Peñamil Alba , CEO & Editor of Grupo Editorial mercacei . Since its inception, 29 years ago, the group has shown its support for the organic sector, with its own section in its Olivar Ecológico publications , from which news about this subject is disseminated worldwide.
