Londoners turned out in their thousands over the weekend for the Go! Organic Festival, the UK capital’s first ever dedicated organic consumer event.
The two-day event, staged at London’s iconic Battersea Park, featured a bustling organic marketplace with 120 leading organic brands, specially themed theatres and cooking demonstrations, an organic beer festival, fun fair and love music from top acts including the Magic Numbers and The Hoosiers.
The festival – organised by Diversified Communications UK (publisher of Natural Products Global) – generated media coverage in both national and specialist media, including the Daily Mail and the BBC’s Weekend at One programme, which reported live from the event. Honest Organic, Abel & Cole, Clearspring, Crazy Jack Organic and Tarantella were the first year event’s premier partners.
The veteran broadcaster and organic champion Jonathan Dimbleby praised the event, commenting that “this type of show just wouldn’t have been possible in the past” – which was a measure of how far the organic movement had come.
The cook and author Melissa Hemsley, said: “Hats off to you all for making such a fun interactive interesting festival No one would have bet it was the first one.”
