This year’s Wake Up To Organic event saw 15,000 mini organic breakfasts given away across the UK in 314 separate events.
The nationwide promotion, coordinated by the Organic Trade Board (OTB), involves a collaboration between independent organic food and health food retailers and specialist organic food and drink brands.
Now in its fifth year, Wake Up To Organic aims to encourage consumers to switch to organic – starting with delicious organic breakfast options.
Growing awareness of the initiative helped WUTO reach an extraordinary 5.6 million people on social media and #WakeUpToOrganic was trending on Twitter from 9am on the morning of the event (6 June).
Among the year’s sponsors and donators of free organic goodies were Alara Cereals, Clearspring, Crazy Jack, Freee by Doves Farm, Infinity Foods, Zinger Shots (James White Drinks), Meridian, Pukka Herbs, Rebel Kitchen and Viridian Nutrition.
The OTB gave a special shout our to Viridian, who packed the WUTO event boxes and sent them to all corners of the country to the stores taking part.
