With nearly one-third of consumers actively consuming more plant-based foods and identifying as “flexitarian,” there is an incredible opportunity for food service providers to offer more plant-based options … but the question is how?
US trade body the Plant Based Food Association (PBFA) thinks it has the answer to the question in the form of its ‘The Power Plant’ fixture – a grab-n-go concept aimed at meeting the high demand for plant-based foods on college campuses, in retail and food service retail spaces, airports, hospitals, and other destinations across the United States.
The concept offers a wide variety of delicious, chef-selected plant-based beverages, snacks, meals all set with a branded cooler, freezer, and snack rack supported by marketing, menu concepts, and culinary training from PBFA’s team of experts.
From burritos and bowls to beverages, yoghurts, and ice cream, The Power Plant offers a variety of its members’ plant-based lines that are cooler- and freezer- ready. Meanwhile, a special snack rack packs a punch with sweet and savoury plant-based snacks – from puffs to jerky, plus quick heat meals.
PBFA says it has also developed Ready to Enjoy options that pair delicious plant-based, chef-inspired salads, bowls, wraps, and snacks designed to please your customers’ palette.
