Two long established family-owned Chicago area retail businesses – fresh market and grocer Angelo Caputo’s and health food store Fruitful Yield – have partnered to create a store-within-a-store experience.
An ‘express version’ of Fruitful Yield store (the retailer operates 14 health stores in and around Chicago) has opened in the wellness department of Angelo Caputo’s Carol Stream location.
Fruitful Yield in Angelo Caputo’s has a product mix focused on natural health, beauty and supplement – complementing the grocery retailer’s wider wellness offer.
Early reaction from customers has been positive, with many professing to love both family-owned businesses and seeing the benefits of a ‘two-in-one’ experience.
The two companies are enthusiastic about the new partnership too. Speaking to the US trade magazine Supermarket News, Fruitful Yield president, Joe Fulco, said: “The Fruitful Yield family has been in business since 1962. Partnering with the Angelo Caputo’s family – which has been in business since 1958 – creates an excellent partnership. Both families are driven to satisfy their customers’ unique needs.”
Robertino Presta, CEO of Angelo Caputo’s (with seven supermarket size outlets), added: “We felt that the partnership was natural. Two local, family businesses that specialize in promoting healthy products and a healthy lifestyle. We couldn’t be any happier.”
