Dr. Bronner’s donates to local social enterprises through All-One UK initiative

Organic and fair trade bodycare brand Dr. Bronner’s has announced its new All-One UK Initiative for 2021 – part of its international programme that aims to ensure ‘mission-aligned advocacy’ is supported by the markets in which the brand sells its products.

“As a companywide priority, the Dr. Bronner’s All-One International Initiative ensures our brand activism will have an impact in markets where our products are sold around the world and also will ensure that our impact is aligned with our local partners and what is relevant to them,” says Dr. Bronner’s president, Michael Bronner. “In the UK, our distributors are deeply inspired by the extraordinary organizations we are supporting and are happy to help elevate awareness of these causes globally.”

Through the initiative, a minimum of 1% of the brands sales to the UK market will be donated to three local enterprises: the homeless charity Emmaus Brighton & Hove; grassroots animal rights organization Surge Activism; and Less Plastic, a family-run, non-profit based in Devon which helps people reduce their plastic waste.

Karen Chapman, finance manager at Emmaus Brighton & Hove, comments: “Emmaus prides itself on generating income through our social enterprises to support our companions to move on from homelessness. So the closure of these as a result of the COVID pandemic has decimated our income. We therefore couldn’t be more grateful to Dr. Bronner’s for their generous donation that will enable us to feed our companions for many months. Thank you.”

In 2020 the All-One UK Initiative, together with a $15,000 contribution from Healthy Sales, donated $50,000 to four organizations.
