British heritage brand Neal’s Yard Remedies has picked up a trio of awards at the 2018 edition of the Organic Beauty Awards.

The awards, organised by the Natural Organic Cosmetics Sweden Association (NOC Sweden), are Sweden’s first awards dedicated to the sustainable, and organic beauty category.
Now in their third year, the Organic Beauty Awards attract over 200 participants. This year’s award ceremony was held alongside the Green Beauty Day event in central Stockholm on 5th of May.
14 of the awards categories were judged by an expert jury led by eco-make-up-artist Catherine Dichy. The winner in the 15th category, Product of the Year, is voted for by Swedish consumers – with Maria Åkerberg winning the peoples vote with its Papaya Peeling product. Last year, Maria Åkerberg also won Product of the Year with the product Eye Creme More.
With the Organic Beauty Awards placing great emphasis on how the brands work with sustainability, the assessment of sustainability was evaluated by experts Anna Högberg, managing director and founder of Futerra Stockholm and Åsa Fredrikson-Jedeskog, sustainability manager at Kicks. Following their deliberations, a special prize – the ’Sustainability Award 2018’ – was established and awarded this year Weleda.
Commenting, lead judge, Catherine Dichy said: “This year’s selection process has been more difficult since many of the products had a very high quality. I found the most difficult category to asses was ‘Best Hand Soap’, since the products were very close in quality, followed by ‘Best New Product’ which had most entered products of all the categories.
