Global organic and fair trade soap brand Dr Bronner’s – with European headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany – will celebrate the opening of its first pop-up outlet in Berlin in partnership with the charitable project People Berlin today (April 26).
The shared store concept, named ‘Round Table’, is located in Hackesche Höfe in the Mitte district in Berlin. The space will be run by Dr. Bronner’s and People Berlin and open from late-April to September 2018. It will function not only as a retail space, but also as a meeting place for people from different social backgrounds as a platform for exchange and dialogue.
“We are seeing unprecedented inequality in the world. We need to create dignified opportunities for homeless youth to attain a higher quality of life,” says Michael Bronner, president of Dr. Bronner’s. “Our company mantra is ‘We Are All-One or None!’ and we believe the privileged have a basic human responsibility to help the under-privileged. It is an honour to create a space with People Berlin where these needs can be addressed and improved through compassion, collaboration, and education.”

In addition to creating fashion and art objects, People Berlin will work in cooperation with young people in difficult situations, designers, and creatives through their studio space, with Dr. Bronner’s selling its entire European line of products in the outlet, using the space to educate consumers about topics like fair trade, constructive capitalism, and regenerative organic agriculture, among other topics. Visitors will be encouraged to try products, ask questions, and share ideas.
