The organic sector in Spain continues to grow, both in area data and in consumption. This is reflected in the data from the 2023 Annual Report on Organic Production and Consumption in Spain of the Spanish professional association of organic production, Ecovalia .

As a novelty, the report highlights the profile of the ecological customer , with data provided by Veritas . The organic customer is mostly female (73% women compared to 27% men) and is mainly between 45 and 60 years old (34%).
Horizon 2030: increase consumption
“Ecovalia has taken on the challenge of leading the increase in consumption, a task in which we need the involvement of all agents: administrators, producers and consumers. Only in this way will we be able to reach the milestones set by Europe by 2030”, concluded the president of the organization, Álvaro Barrera , during the presentation of the report at the Royal Tapestry Factory in Madrid. For this, the entity points out, the involvement of all agents: administrators, producers and consumers, through training , promotion and dissemination of the value of organic production , is essential.
In this sense, Ecovalia will participate on June 7 and 8 in Organic Food & Eco Living Iberia , an event of which it is the main sponsor.
