Natural Products News shines a spotlight on a handful of the latest launches, campaigns, award wins and more from natural and organic brands and businesses.

Start-up The African Foodie has launched with an initial four Vegan Society-certified North African sauces and relishes. Berber Harissa is an authentic chilli sauce made from cayenne peppers, garlic, carraway olive oil, sunflower oil and dried chillies and can be used as a cooking ingredient or as an accompaniment, while Omek Houria is a lively carrot relish with garlic, coriander and carraway seeds. Also in the line-up are Tunisian Shakshuka sauce and Libyan Mashwiya. “In time, The African Foodie hopes to celebrate the finest food traditions from across the African Continent, however in the short-term the focus is very much Tunisia and Libya, vibrant hotbeds of artisanal, vegan-leaning fayre,” says founder Alsamani Khider. Working alongside authentic artisanal producers and growers, The African Foodie aims to create invaluable local jobs that will be supported by its Manchester operation.

The second round of the Men’s JASON billboard advertising campaign has now launched, this time picking out  the hero products of 2-in-1 Face + Body Wash and 2-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner from the Refreshing range. The campaign will run throughout October and follows the initial campaign which was run in the summer and was picked up by a wide range of influencers, content creators and athletes including Olympic Champion Greg Rutherford, paralympic medallist Oliver Lam-Watson, Karate World and European medallist Jordan Thomas, and MMA Fighter Jason Markland. The initial campaign artwork showed off the entirety of the range: the four different products – 2-in-1 Face + Body Wash, 2-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner, Deodorant, and Facial Moisturiser & Aftershave Balm – in the three different ranges – Hydrating, Refreshing and Calming.

Natural sports nutrition company Protein Rebel has launched Run Easy marine collagen peptides powder for runners, triathletes and cyclists.  Run Easy has been made with just one ingredient – pure marine collagen from white fish – to help strengthen joints and ligaments reduce the risk of injury. “As a runner and cyclist, I’m fully aware of the pressures our bodies are put under when training over long distances” says founder Tim Boote. “Run Easy has the ideal amino acid profile for improving joint health, accelerating recovery after exercise while reducing muscle soreness.” Run Easy is unflavoured and has no added sweeteners, preservatives, gums or fillers to ensure its fast acting and easy to digest. Being hydrolysed, it is more easily absorbed by the body and is up to 1.5 times faster acting than bovine and porcine collagen, says the brand.

Okiki Skincare has introduced a new candle named Ugu (meaning ‘pumpkin’ in Yoruba) for the autumn season. Handmade, palm oil-free and vegan, the candle has been carefully blended with premium creme apricot soy wax to create a slower and cleaner burn, and includes notes of pumpkin, persimmon, clove, ginger, orange and vanilla to complement any cosy winter night. The candle features a wooden wick, which is a sustainable option and has a distinct crackling sound when burning to create a great ambiance. Founders Ade and Antonia Ogunsola comment: “When we developed this fragrance, we really wanted to focus on all the scents of autumn; what this season looks like and the scents that are popular during this time. Our candle has many spicy notes to give you a brisk, crispy, autumnal smell that changes the atmosphere in your home.”

Start-up brand Idavoll has launched with a male sexual health food supplement to support healthy blood flow, libido and help maintain stamina. Inspired by the legends of the fearless Norse Gods who assembled on the plain of Idavoll, the brand studied the hardy shrubs and plants that thrive in harsh subarctic conditions to gather a toolkit of ingredients. “The Idavoll team set out to formulate the most effective natural and vegan male sexual performance supplement on the market,” says brand founder Dan Barron. “Having studied countless research papers and consulting with renowned practitioners, we settled on the formulation of our core ingredients, Siberian ginseng, maca root extract, l-arginine and maritime pine bark extract, intended to provide the perfect balance of improved blood circulation, stamina and vitality.” The vegan capsules also contain zinc to help support testosterone levels.
