Leading New Zealand peanut butter brand Pic’s launched its jarred products into top UK supermarket chain Tesco a year ago, quickly winning fans among Britain’s health and fitness community.
Its latest launch into the intensely competitive UK healthy snacking sector takes the form of smooth peanut butter shots, or ‘Slugs’ – available at Tesco stores, and steadily being rolling out at independent retailers around the country.
“Consumers are actively seeking more natural sources of food for their snacking options, without artificial additives and loaded with sugar. Convenience matters as people need to fit nutritional needs into their busy lives,” says Nikki Neate, global marketing manager for Pic’s Peanut Butter.
“Snacking between meals is one way to incorporate more protein into your diet and our PB is a natural form of plant protein (26%) with a very short list of recognisable ingredients that people are familiar with. Pic’s Peanut Butter contains just two ingredients: Australian grown Hi-Oleic peanuts and a little salt. Teamed with a piece of fresh fruit or veg and it’s a healthy snack or breakfast/lunch on the go.”
