Ariadna Rovira Tenas, Sales Manager at CELLER LAGRAVERA SLU
What techniques or systems do you use to produce organic?
We work in biodynamics. Which means that we respect the fauna, flora and the cosmos, and we use what they provide us to care for the earth. For our task we are guided by the calendars and the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner and Maria Thun, and we serve you biodynamic preparations to take care of the vineyard.
Tell us more specifically what you do, and what makes it so special
I dedicate myself to promoting the Wines of Lagravera, by the hand of Pilar Salillas, who is a great oenologist and is the one who leaves her mark on the Lagravera wines and makes them as genuine as she is. In my task I not only make the wines known to buyers and Winelovers: I take it as a task of diffusion of what we do in our vineyards and in our winery, to gradually transform our environment, putting our grain of sand when we work biodynamically, transforming oenology to a more sensitive one from our corner in the far west of Catalonia. We don’t just make wine: it is by making wine that we take care of the land, interpret the cosmos and respect natural rhythms. It is by making wine that we return to the origins and recover the knowledge of our ancestors.
Why do you think the organic sector is becoming so important?
Here there are two main factors that play a role in people’s day-to-day choices: firstly, concern for the environment and care for the earth; and secondly, the concern to take care of people’s bodies and do without all those external agents that are not natural, that are not typical of the ecosystem in which we move and that directly harm the well-being of people and the earth. Every day there are more people who are aware of the importance of taking sides in the fight to keep us healthy and keep the planet healthy and actively decide to buy what is best for everyone.
