Pouring with Purpose: Sustainable drinks brand hosts World Earth Day Webinar

Environment-positive spirits producer Avallen is hosting a special eco-themed webinar on World Earth Day 22 April at 1pm.

The company will be joined by leading names from the drinks and environmental industries as part of a panel discussion about environmental positivity and the future of the drinks industry. The conversation will be streamed live via the Avallen YouTube Channel.

The panel will include:

  • Sarah Duncan – Ethical marketing consultant and author of The Ethical Business Book
  • Jarvis Smith – My Green Pod founder
  • Sarah Vachon –marketing director at Provenance
  • James Fowler – Owner of sustainable driven outlets Terroir Tapas & The Larder House
  • Tim Etherington-Judge – Co founder of Avallen Spirits

Host: Stephanie Jordan – Co-founder of Avallen Spirits

The live webinar will cover a wide range of environmental topics including restorative business practice, changing consumer trends, the future of ingredients, trends and creativity in the drinks industry.

Stephanie Jordan, co-founder at Avallen said: “At Avallen we are absolutely committed to our goal to be the most environmentally positive drinks brand in the world and as such we need to highlight issues and start conversations, which is the purpose of our Earth Day Webinar. We want to challenge our wonderful industry to work together and think about ways in which we can all become more sustainable.

Many companies address the packaging and post-production side of things, which is great, but that’s only 30% of the issue.  Over 70% of the environmental impact of the drinks industry is created during production and that’s why at Avallen we are so focussed on ensuring our production is as sustainable as possible.  Our brilliant panellists are bursting with experience and information and we are delighted to bring them together to help steer our industry and the 50th anniversary of World Earth Day seemed the perfect day to do it.”

Jarvis Smith, founder of My Green Pod added: “What if everyone has a purpose yet to be fulfilled? Imagine that purpose being completely focused on fixing the biggest issue of humanities time. Nature can show us our purpose if we are willing to listen, it did for me. I’m really looking forward to sharing insights on how that came about for the Avallen Earth Day webinar.”

Avallen Calvados was founded by Stephanie Jordan and Tim Etherington-Judge and launched on World Bee Day in 2019.  Avallen is an environmentally positive apple brandy, produced in Normandy, France. Their entire production process from the pesticide free apple orchards to the labels made from waste apple pulp and lightweight bottle is done in the most sustainable way.  As well as championing sustainability in their industry, Avallen also have a mission to save the bees, donating to the Bumble Bee Conservation Trust with each bottle sold and they have committed to planting 10,000 flowering plants in their first three years of business.
