Ji-Young Moo – a representative from pioneering South Korean organic initiative, Hansalim cooperative – has been added to the impressive speaker line-up for the 5th Organic Processing Conference (Zwolle, Netherlands, 16-17 2018).
The Hansalim cooperative currently enables more than 540 000 families to buy Korean organic products from a producers’ cooperative, connecting urban and rural areas, using a model based on mutual trust between producers and consumers.
Originating in 1986 as a simple grain store selling organic grain to consumers in Seoul, Hansalim has developed into a federation of organic farmers and consumers with annual sales of over USD 300 million, produced from sales at its stores and online business. Today, it is the largest organic consumer cooperative in South Korea.
Jointly hosted by IFOAM EU and Bionext, The 5th Organic Processing Conference will bring together leading organic thinkers, brand owners, processors and policy makers to speak on a range of topics, including:
• New business models and financial schemes that can help transform food and farming
• The role of digital tools to enable processors to meet consumer demand for transparency and traceability
• Consumer trends and perspectives in the organic sector
