We spoke with Alireza Mobasheri, Business Area Manager at Skåne City Mission
Before developing Skåne City mission’s foodbank, Alireza has established Malmö’s first social supermarket and worked in food production as product & brand/category manager.
What are a few main takeaways from your session at the show?
The way we helping to reducing food waste by picking up the surplus, sorting and re-distributing the products in social channels like food serving in shelters or selling in social supermarkets. Even the effect of food in our business areas and how it’d help promoting “Empowerment” in vulnerable groups.
What one person or business in the natural, organic/sustainable industry do you really admire and why?
There are many who work in this business. It’s hard for me to choose one!
What do you see as key trends for eco & organic products in the coming year?
The market for this range of products tends to be larger in the coming years, I believe.
How important is Eco Life Scandinavia/Nordic Organic Food Fair to you/the industry
For us at City Mission, it means a unique opportunity to meet local food producers and discuss how we together can reduce the waste while working with empowerment.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Be happy and grateful for what you have, even for small things but above all for your health.
Who or what inspires you to be even better?
My father, who still works for and with vulnerable people despite having been a pensioner for the last 12 years.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that most people don’t know.
I used to be a pilot, hold a Commercial Pilot License before I moved to Sweden.
